Climate change is reshaping patterns of human movement across Ghana and the African continent. Rising temperatures, unpredictable rainfall, drought, flooding, and land degradation are influencing livelihoods and increasing migration pressures in vulnerable regions. CCEDR’s Climate Mobility & Security Research Program examines how environmental stress intersects with economic conditions, social stability, and human security.
Through field surveys, stakeholder interviews, data modeling, and policy analysis, we investigate how climate-induced displacement affects households, communities, and local governance systems. Our research explores both internal migration and cross-border mobility, paying particular attention to youth, women, and farming populations whose livelihoods depend heavily on natural resources.
Beyond data collection, we work to ensure that findings inform national and regional migration policies. By engaging policymakers, local authorities, and development agencies, we translate research insights into recommendations that strengthen protection frameworks, support livelihood diversification, and promote stability in high-risk areas.

CCEDR’s Education & School Outreach Program equips students and teachers with practical knowledge about climate change, environmental stewardship, and sustainable living. We believe that empowering young minds creates ripple effects that strengthen entire communities.
Through interactive workshops, school-based climate clubs, teacher training sessions, and curriculum support, we help schools integrate sustainability into everyday learning. This intensive program combines practical training, mentorship, collaborative problem-solving, and innovation challenges. Participants explore renewable energy solutions, sustainable agriculture models, waste management innovations, climate technology applications, and green enterprise development.
